Fall Open Test (HAE) (AHAE) (PE)
The Snake River Versatile Gun Dog Club welcomes you to our second annual VHDF fall open test on September 12, 13, and 14. We will offer all three levels of VHDF testing.
Hunting Aptitude Evaluation (HAE) with Water Aptitude-A puppy level hunting test to evaluate the natural abilities of the young versatile hunting dog. Tracking will be on captive raised or wild pheasants.
Advanced Hunting Aptitude Evaluation (AHAE)-An advanced natural ability hunting test to evaluate the young dog’s natural talents that have been exposed through training.
Performance Evaluation (PE)-A performance level hunting test for the fully finished versatile gun dog.

There are some wild Valley quail, and Pheasant in the area. If a dog has no opportunities to point wild game, liberated Bobwhite quail or Chukar will be in the area. The tracking will be in grass and natural habitat and all dogs will have opportunities on captive released rooster pheasants. All dogs should have been exposed pheasant tracks, birds, and gunfire prior to the test.
In case of extreme weather conditions we may choose to use an alternate site for the field portion of the tests in Middleton, Idaho. The water portion will be at the Montour Wildlife Management Area. Montour will serve as our main encampment. There is a campground with facilities at Montour
