Greetings from Montana -- Big Sky Country --great hunting and awesome Weimaraners. Of course I am more than a little bias in my opinion, but after over 30 years of owning and raising Weimaraners I can honestly tell you that I have done everything to ensure you get the a healthy Weimaraner with all kinds of potential. Our pups have proven their abilities in the field, in hunt tests and field trials, also Conformation, in agility, and as family pets. They have great temperaments and the aptitude to learn just about anything you would desire to train them to do.
Health is primary to our breeding program at PM Weimaraners. All of our dogs have PennHip/OFA Certified hips and OFA certified Elbows/OFA Cardiac/OFA Dentition. They also have OFA CERF eye certifications, DNA for HUU/HPYM/SD . You can find a link to these documents on their individual pages by double-clicking on their highlighted name here in text or a link to their pedigree on the Weimaraner Database with their health info displayed with pedigree. We do not breed our girls back-to-back as this encourages health defects in puppies and puts the female at risk as well. We only breed once per year and sometimes even every 2 years or two to three times in a females lifetime.
In our search for healthy, versatile dogs we have made a decision to include Longhair Weims in our breeding program. This is a recessive trait that may be important in preserving the health of Weimaraners. Any shorthaired puppies that carry the Longhair gene tend to have a more dense coat - this is very important in the field and taller grasses.
Our puppies not only have Champion bloodlines, extensive Health Certifications, Veterinary Check-ups, but are hand-raised in a family environment. My Grand Children are instrumental in the socialization of the pups we offer for sale. Our dogs are all registered with the American Kennel Club (AKC) and some are dual registered with NAVHDA (North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association and/or FCI (Fédération Cynologique Internationale) as they were imported from other countries like Germany, The Netherlands or The Czech Republic.
I sincerely hope you will enjoy our web site. Let me know if you have questions and I will get back to you in a timely manner. There is one last thing I would like to mention before you start to explore our site and that is about selling our pups. Of course, it goes without saying our pups go only to good homes, but I also want to say that we never wholesale or broker pups. We never sell to pet shops. It is our goal to find a good home for every puppy we raise. Once they leave our home we love to stay in touch and hear about their achievements and antics. We are also here as a resource for you along the way. Sometimes questions arise and I will be glad to try to answer them, and if I don't know the answer I will try to find out for you. Now, I hope you enjoy our web site. Have a great visit and let me know if I can help you in anyway.
