Dawna Miller is an exceptional breeder of
Weims--especially hunting Weims.  Not only
is she a great breeder who takes time and care to
raise healthy and well adjusted Weims, but she herself is
a person of integrity.  We would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for a Weim.  We don't take making this recommendation lightly since my husband and  I also raise Weims.  As breeders we are aware of the extra care she puts into her breeding stock which she treats as an integral part of her family.      The Nielsens  (Cliff & Shela)  Ontario, OR
Sunmist's Ghost Hunter
Sunmist's Ghost Hunter is now 3+ years old.   He is an excellent hunter out of your dogs. He is wonderful with my 2 yr. old daughter. She climbs on him and he is always so gentle. When he is out hunting he is very aware of his surroundings and loves to point out the birds. We raise our own pheasants and pigeons so he is never out of practice. My family would not know what to do without him!!   Brandy Deaton
First Rabbit!
She didn't stay  small for long--- blue is quite the character. She has a domineering personelality and is too smart for her own good. I have missed her honoring  point many times and always seen to have the camera not with me. The thing I like about her is she works close and usually stays close on our daily walk abouts's on the ranch.

I can't wait to get her on some pheasants down by the river. Hope to have a pointing picture soon.

I have been searching for the perfect puppy for
six months now and when I met Dawna she made
me feel extremely comfortable and always made
me feel my needs were top priority. Her dogs are
absolutely beautiful and the love she gives them
really showed in my puppy Triton. All my expectations were exceeded when I received my puppy and her hard work and dedication really pays off with her litters. I spoke with many other breeders locally and abroad and no one came close to the professional services provided by PM Weimaraners. I honestly believe Dawna does this for her love of the breed rather than the money and it will be evident to anyone that does business with her. I would strongly recommend Dawna to everyone I know searching for a Weim. Her personal attention and availability really makes her an asset to any pet owner. She was always there to answer any of my questions and her hard work and dedication does not go overlooked.

Thanks Dawna you have been great- Michael Gozzo

Stephanie Oldham's Tasha
We are all doing great!  Tasha is great! She has done well with her obedience class and for being only 8 months she is in the top of the class, REALLY good!  She is very calm around the house and will just lay on her bed beside the couch or follow me wherever I go.
Thank so much for our wonderful Weim girl.

Tasha enjoys
a good bed!
Here are some pictures of Sky. She is doing very well. She is starting to retrieve good and she is not afraid of guns at all.  She points at little birds.  I think she is going to be a good hunter.
Thanks

Dear Dawna,

We wanted to send you a note and tell you thank you so much
for our sweet little Marley.  Well little is not really a
good word to describe him anymore.  As of today he weighs 27
and a half pounds. Guess I am going to get that big
Weimeriner after all. Not only is he beautiful and smart,
but he has a great personality.  From the day he came to us he has never been shy.  He is sweet and friendly, and boy does he
ham it up if he can get some attention.  He doesn't let Misty push him around either, he pushes right back.

Today, at his check up, his veterinarian gave me a compliment.
She said "I can tell that you spend a lot of time with him
because he lets me do this."  She was clipping his toe
nails. While I would have liked to take all the credit, I
had to tell her that he came to us that way, and that I
think it was the great care he received from you. There are
so many people out there breeding and selling dogs for the
money.  It is refreshing to see someone who truely cares
about the dogs they are breeding.  Wonderful dogs like
Marley don't just happen, they are a product of someone's
loveing care and hard work.
Thank you again,
Bob and Gina Ratcliff

This weekend I went pheasant hunting with some friends Sky did great; she retrieved every one of them.
You have a great Christmas 2006

HI Dawna,,,
I have a lot of good pictures of Art and will send you a bunch soon. Art has had a great summer, swimming a lot at the Marina, doggy daycare once a week, 2 pretty long driving trips with me, running 3 miles every day along side me in the Kawasaki Mule. He asleep under my desk, Art is the perfect office mate, sleeps, take a potty break, sleeps, lunch, sleeps, potty break then goof off in the evening together. He has the perfect personality of what I wanted, THANK YOU,
I am grateful every day.

DAWNA,

HE IS SO SOCIABLE.  HE HAS MET SO MANY PEOPLE, KIDS,DOGS,CATS AND HE IS THE HIT OF THE TOWN.  HE WAS JUST HELPING US PICK BEANS. NOW HE IS HELPING WITH THE TYPING.  GREAT WITH KIDS.  HE LIKED THE BEANS SO WE GAVE HIM ONE AND IN 2 MINS. HE LEARNED THAT HE DIDN'T HAVE TO WAIT FOR US TO GIVE HIM ONE, HE HELPED HIMSELF BY TAKING ONE  OUT OF THE BAG AND I MEAN ONLY ONE AND THEN WHEN HE WAS FINISHED HE WENT BACK FOR ONE MORE.  WIFE WAS VERY IMPRESSED.  SHE IS TOTALLY IN LOVE WITH HIM.  OUR COCKER LONG STORY BUT HE DOES NOT HAVE CANCER.  DR. FROM BLOOD LAB FAULT.  IT WAS CALLED A FALSE POSITIVE.. COCKER IS VERY JEALOUS AND SOME WHAT OF A PROBLEM.  HE HANGS AROUND ME ALL THE TIME.

OUR CAT IS VERY INTERESTED IN GUS.  HE IS 17.5 YRS. OLD,  MY GOOD BUDDY SO HE DOES NOT RUN AND LETS GUS COME UP TO HIM.  LAST NIGHT GUS WAS TO AGGRESSIVE I GUESS AND HE CAUGHT TWO CAT PAWS IN THE FACE NO CLAWS.  GUS DIDN'T MOVE AND WENT IN FOR TWO MORE PAWS GUS JUST STOOD HIS GROUND, THE CAT LOOKED AT HIM AND JUST RAN DOWN THE BASEMENT STAIRS.

HE IS LAYING AT MY FEET NOW, HE'S TIRED OF THE TYPING.
DO I NEED TO BE CAREFUL HE HAS BEEN WITH ME SINCE I GOT HIM.  I PLAN TO SPEND A LITTLE TIME HERE AND THERE AWAY FROM HIM, I HAVE DONE SOME OF THIS AND I HAVE NO PROBLEM FINDING PEOPLE TO WATCH HIM.

I TALKED TO MY VET AND WILL MAKE AN APPOINTMENT NEXT WEEK, VET SAW HIM WHEN WE TOOK COCKER IN.  SHE HAD NEVER SEEN ONE AND WAS IMPRESSED WITH HIM ALL THE WAY AROUND.

TALK TO YOU LATER.

Colt is doing fantastic!!! I've taken the check chord off and he still points and holds, he held a point for about 10 minutes the other day because I couldn't get through some brush, so that was cool. I have been shooting alot of penned quail over him, so I'm anxious for season to start in a couple weeks so I can shoot some wild birds for him.  He still has a long ways to go though, he has started creeping when the bird is about to flush so have to iron that one out. I'm pretty happy, should be a good season.

Hi Dawna,

We thought you might like an update on how Miley is doing.  She has become a very special part of our family, and quite a cuddle bug.  She is getting so big so fast.  She can now reach the countertops and into the laundry basket with no trouble at all.  She especially loves to eat socks and enjoyed her third one last Friday.  Fortunately, they have all come back out without incident!  We try so hard to keep them away from her but she is very fast and very sneaky! She just grabs them and swallows them in seconds.

Miley graduated from her puppy class last week and is doing great.  She is full of energy!  The trainers kept trying to take a photo of her and she jumped every time they tried to snap the photo, so we ended up with a very funny photo that is attached.  There is also a nice one at her graduation and one of our family at Christmas.

Mike has been taking Miley to all day hunting classes on Sundays.  They have been doing this for three weeks now and they both really love it.  There is another dog named Rascal and they love to play and hunt together. Len Jenkins, the man training the dogs, is going to use Miley at a demonstration at the Detroit Cobo dog show here in March.  We are looking forward to it and we'll send you photos of that when we get them.

Hope all is well with you there.  Very, very cold here!

Take care

Colt
UPDATE FEB. 2008

Consistency is the true measure of ones ability.  I have heard these quotes consistently over the last 16 months with Colt. “That is one beautiful dog,”  “What a loving personality,”  “Colt is the hardest hunting Weimaraner I have ever seen,”  “You’re not going to get a better point then that.”  And consistency is what Dawna provides with her dogs.  Colt has been adored by friends and family from the first instant I brought him home.  I was raised with the saying that the only way to make a GREAT hunting dog is to use him as a tool, not a friend.  That phrase has been smashed, burned and buried by Colt.  Not only is Colt personnel, loving, and an absolute joy! Colt is showing the promise and ability to be a GREAT Weimeraner.  His first hunting season we bagged 24 roosters, 10 chuckars, a MANY quail shot over him, over course not counting my shooting blunders.  Like any young dog, he has made his mistakes, but like any 5 star Blue Chip Recruit, practice makes perfect.  I credit Dawna’s immense attention to detail and her un-wavering love for the breed for these consistent results.  You always hear about the once in a lifetime dog, I believe a struck gold with Colt.

Hi Dawna,
Hope all is well.  Just a quick update on Miley, she did great on birds this Winter and Spring. However, now she has taking up fishing.  Attached are a couple of pictures of her pointing fish in the shallows at our cottage.  The first couple of weekends when the Bluegills were in tight, we could not get her out of the water.  She would spend 8 or 10 hours straight in the water.  We thought she was going to grow gills.  We now refer to the lake as "Miley’s babysitter."
